Candy Grams Fundraiser for MPP Scholarship and UNHCR's Earthquake Response

In February, Demos held our first fundraising event and distributed candy grams in the week of Valentine’s Day. For a small amount, students and staff of UNU-MERIT were able to get a hand-written note and chocolates delivered to them by a Demos Board member. Initially, the fundraiser was designed only to raise funds for the MPP Scholarship, but in light of the recent and devastating earthquakes in Syria and Turkey, we decided to donate half of the proceeds of the candy grams to the UNHCR earthquake response. 

Many students and staff members participated in the candy gram fundraiser and we were happy to announce that all candy grams were sold out even before the dawn of Valentine’s Day! In total, €134 was raised collectively, which means that the MPP Scholarship can be supported with further €67. We want to thank all who participated and used this opportunity to not only spread friendly notes, chocolate and love, but also to donate to these causes! 

Demos will continue our fundraising with further activities in the upcoming months, but the option to donate in the meantime remains of course.
